Bareilly: God Bharai and Annaprashan ceremonies were organised at several Anganwadi centres across Bareilly district under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, being conducted from September 17 to October 17, 2026.
The campaign aims to highlight public welfare initiatives associated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service and connect citizens with the collective national vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. Friday’s activities were organised under the theme “Aangan Milan Seva.”
As part of the programmes, traditional God Bharai ceremonies were conducted for pregnant women, while Annaprashan ceremonies were performed for infants. Beneficiaries and their families were also provided information on maternal and child health, balanced nutrition, regular immunisation, antenatal check-ups and government schemes related to nutrition and women’s welfare.
The programmes were held at Anganwadi centres including Behta Junu under the Majhgawan Child Development Project; Nagariya Khurd, Basai and Rustamnagar under the Shergarh project; and centres in Haldi Kala, Nirbhua, Akalabad, Manpur, Maulana Nagar and Bhauta, among several other locations across the district.
With the support of Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers and ANMs, beneficiary women and their families were sensitised about preventing malnutrition, ensuring nutritious diets and supporting the overall development of children.
The campaign also highlighted the importance of ensuring that eligible families receive the benefits of government welfare schemes related to maternal and child health and nutrition.
